General Guidelines
Mailbox installations are regulated by the United States Postal Service (USPS) with general guidelines regarding placement of mail boxes.
Location
As you are looking at your home from the street, your mail box should be on the right side of your driveway.
Height
Your mailbox should be 42 to 44 inches tall from the pavement surface to the bottom of your mailbox.
Setback
Your mailbox should be 2 inches behind the face of the curb and gutter.
Numbers
The numbers on your mailbox should be at least 1 inch in height and on the approach side of the mail box.
